We have sound leadership and broad support

The Arthur M. Brazier Foundation has assembled a diverse and influential board of seasoned and successful relationship builders with varied perspectives and broad reach. The board comprises corporate executives, the University of Chicago, and thought leaders in education, urban development and nonprofit work.

What they share is a deep appreciation, love and respect for the work of Bishop Brazier, and a commitment to realizing his vision for Woodlawn and its surrounding communities. Their connection to the Bishop anchors their commitment to leverage their knowledge, relationships and influence to complete his work and carry out his vision.

Our partnership with Woodlawn’s important neighbor to the north—the University of Chicago—began with Bishop Brazier and today is a critical element that will help us advance in our work. The University continues to provide assistance in implementing LISC’s New Communities Program in Woodlawn (a long-term initiative that aims to rejuvenate Woodlawn and other challenged Chicago communities). The University of Chicago is a strong ally that supports the Foundation and is invested in its success.
